Work Samples

Group Led Project:

Tram is an application built using Ruby on Rails for the back-end, React.js and Redux.js for the front-end, PostgreSQL for the database, and styled with Materialize. Tram is created to provide others with a platform to carpool when headed up to the Cottonwood Canyons for a day in the mountains.

Individual Projects:

A Major League Baseball score predictor application built using Ruby on Rails, web scraped data, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and third-party APIs.

Pair Programming Projects:

Ruby Casino is a program built using Ruby and styled with the ASCII Art Gem. My partner and I built the casino as a way to improve our Ruby coding abilities and to provide others with some entertainment. Feel free to download our casino from the provied GitHub link and test your luck.
Mountain View Pizza is a basic CRUD application I made to learn React.js. React.js was used for the front-end, Ruby on Rails for the back-end, PostgreSQL for the database, and styled with Bootstrap. This application reflects my love of making pizza and learning to make applications using React.js.
Rails Trip Tracker is an application built using Ruby on Rails for the back-end, HTML and CSS for the front-end, PostgreSQL for the database, and styled with Materialize. My partner and I built the trip tracker as a way for people to plan out their upcoming trips.

So little time, so much code to write. The project I am currently working on is:

  • My first project in Python! This language is awesome and so is snow. To learn the basics of Python and deepen my understanding of web scraping, I am building an application that tracks the daily base total of ski areas in different regions of North America and provides historical snowfall data for each of the tracked areas. My goal is to prove with data, once and for all, that Utah truly has, "The Greatest Snow on Earth."
